Signs of wear in the joint – so-called arthrosis – cause pain and restrict mobility.In the framework of the hyaluronic acid therapy in regular intervals we inject a kind of an artificial synovial fluid into the joint cleavage – this relieves the worn-out cartilage, reduces pain and thereby enhances the function of the joint without any side effects.
In the case of the joint that is most often affected, the knee joint, such injections of hyaluronic acid often result in a significant reduction of the medical condition and a decrease of the swelling disposition. Annually, SPORTHOMEDIC treats approx. 400 knee joints with hyaluronic acid. Thereby, we allow many patients to climb up the stairs without any pain again and we are in a position to postpone necessary implants of prostheses.
