Arthroscopy
In the framework of arthroscopy the surgeon assesses the interior of a joint by means of a small camera. Thereby, he gets an exact overview of the condition of the joint and at the same time he can perform corrective measures with special instruments to the internal parts, such as an operation on a lacerated meniscus in the knee.
Arthroscopy is in particular used in the event of injuries of the ankle joint, of the knee or of the shoulder joint.
Being a minimally-invasive method, arthroscopy has a much lower impact on the organism than an open operation since a cut of only few millimeters is necessary to insert the instruments.
Accordingly, the patient should recover faster and can resume his daily life sooner.
