Orthopaedic surgery
Orthopaedic surgery means the surgical treatment of sports injuries or degenerative detrition of joints. Predominantly, we treat knee, ankle and shoulder joints. These joints are significantly stressed in sports daily routines and are particularly injury-prone. In the case of pain syndromes in the shoulder area (e.g. the so-called impingement syndrome or lesions of the rotator cuff) where the conservative therapy has not brought any satisfactory pain relief nowadays surgical (arthroscopic) intervention is very successful. Chronic instabilities of the upper ankle joint can also be surgically stabilised after unsuccessful conservative therapies. In this context there are modern sugery methods (arthroscopy and reconstructions of the lateral collateral ligament by means of Bio-Anchor at place.
