Our new facility with many advantages
On 30 January 2011, our sports-orthopaedic practice SPORTHOMEDIC under the management of Prof. Dr. med. Oliver Tobolski opened its gates to the new premises in the south of Cologne.Many patients, friends, partners and suppliers took this opportunity to inspect our new premises and to express their personal congratulations. We would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone for their congratulations, flowers and kind attention. We were particularly delighted at the numerous charitable donations (hospital in India). Our new premises have brought us a big step forward in achieving our aim to treat our patients with personal and human attention at the latest standards in medical technology.
Our new digital X-radiograph for instance combines latest X-ray techniques with maximum safety for our patients and thus enables us to easily diagnose injuries and degenerative changes of the musculoskeletal system. Our three colour-duplex sonographs allow for sound clinical diagnostics of soft tissue and tendon injuries.
Furthermore, our last-generation apparatus for four-dimensional spine measurements facilitates exact diagnoses and therapeutical monitoring of body-alignment disorders and spine degeneration without radiation exposure. By means of an extra-corporal radial shock-wave therapy, we are now able to successfully treat tendon disorders such as tennis elbow as well as heel spurs and shoulder conditions (calcific tendinitis) with very few side effects.
One of SPORTHOMEDIC’s great advantages is a close co-operation with professional partners in the same building. This fact optimises communication and accelerates procedures and thus contributes to a faster healing process. The 5th floor of our building for instance houses a 560 m³ physiotherapeutical centre with an affiliated area for medical rehabilitation. In close co-operation with SPORTHOMEDIC, post-surgical treatments and prevention programmes are carried out.
An affiliated radiological institute with a nuclear-spin tomographic unit as well as a CT- unit ensures radiological diagnostics at the highest technological level. Subsequent to an initial clinical examination at SPORTHOMEDIC, patients can be channelled to radiological diagnostics and thereafter return to SPORTHOMEDIC for further treatment. This avoids long waiting times and travel distances.
Moreover, we maintain a close co-operation with internal physicians, cardiologists and other medical collaboration partners who will domiciliate in the same building in the near future. As a further highlight, the company Rahm (orthopaedic technology) houses one of its subsidiaries at the Bonner Straße 207: all kinds of bandages, ortheses and insoles can be manufactured and customized by highly-qualified orthopaedic technicians in close co-operation with SPORTHOMEDIC, which also avoids waiting times and additional travel distances.
In addition, our patients benefit from a well-established pharmaceutical after-care in close co-operation with the pharmacy in the ground floor of our building.
Hence, SPORTHOMEDIC’s new facility offers gentle, effective and highly-technological treatment combined with top-level medical care in one and the same house.
