Prof. Dr. med. Oliver Tobolski

Grown up in Rhineland, Abitur (A-levels) 1987 in Meckenheim near Bonn.
After basic military service, start of Medical Studies in 1988 in Bonn and subsequently in Montpellier and Aachen (Aix-la-Chapelle).
3rd State Examination in 1994 at the Faculty of Medicine of the Bonn University.
Subsequently doctor-in-training at various hospitals in Waldbröl, Cologne and Münster (special field: surgery).
Parallelly to studies, specialisation in the treatment of sports-orthopaedic/sports-traumatologic disorders of the musculoskeletal system.
Employment with the Universitätsklinik zu Münster (University Hospital of Münster), there involved in the assessment and clarification of scientific issues.
Numerous observational rotations in Germany and abroad with leading sports orthopaedists/sports traumatologists as well as wide-ranging education in the surgical as well as non-surgical treatment of sports injuries.
In 2001, advanced training and specialisation in sports medicine and chirotherapy.
Parallelly, assumption of teaching activities at the Deutsche Sporthochschule Köln (German Sport University Cologne) as well as at the Rheinische Fachhochschule Köln (University of Applied Sciences Cologne).
Since 2001, resident physician in private pratice in Cologne, specialised in sports orthopaedics and sports traumatology, since 2006 medical consultant at the Wesseling hospital.
Member of the Deutscher Sportärztebund (German Federation of Sports Medicine) and member of the Deutschsprachige Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Arthroskopie (German-speaking Arthroscopy Association).
Mentoring doctor of the special task forces of the Cologne Police Department as well as various competitive athletes (German Tennis League SC Marienburg, professional boxer Mr. Felix Sturm etc.).
Private sporting activities: tennis and endurance sports.
